The Bridge Collection

The Bridge: Leather Goods Made in Tuscany

The Bridge It is a historic “Made in Italy” brand steeped in the finest Tuscan leather goods tradition, combining classic and contemporary styles in its collections of handbags, backpacks for men and women, luggage, accessories, and belts crafted from full-grain leather with a supple construction.
The The Bridge brand is famous worldwide for the high quality of its materials and the expert craftsmanship of its items for women and men, created by designers inspired by the vintage and globetrotting culture of the 1970s.

The Story of "The Bridge"

The Bridge The company was founded in Scandicci in 1969 under the name Ponte Pelletteria S.p.A., a business comprised of five artisans united by a passion for leatherworking. It quickly established itself as a leader in the artisanal crafting of high-quality Tuscan “Pieno Fiore” leather, treated with vegetable tanning and a polishing process that renders the leather soft and lustrous.
Just six years later, in 1975, Ponte Pelletteria S.p.A. changed its name to The Bridge and continued to interpret—while innovating—the expertise of the Tuscan leatherworking tradition, creating its iconic “cognac”-colored leather bags: The new collections under the The Bridge brand reflect the same blend of tradition and modernity, making each piece unique while embracing natural beauty.
This heritage gave rise to classic doctor’s bags, women’s shoulder bags, work briefcases, and soft-sided bags—all of which live on today in the new The Bridge Story, Kallio, and Florentin collections for men, women, and travel.
It was in the late 1980s that The Bridge took a significant step forward, transforming itself into a full-fledged industrial enterprise specializing in the production of bags, luggage, footwear, hats, and gloves, with collections inspired by and rooted in artisanal craftsmanship: many of the details of The Bridge’s products are still made by hand today.

In 2016, the company became part of the Piquadro Group, thereby forming the most well-known production hub abroad for high-end Italian leather goods.
The company has, however, retained its own identity, enhancing the value of the The Bridge brand worldwide.

High-quality leather goods and artisanal techniques

Practical, minimalist designs, high-quality leathers, tanning techniques, and artisanal craftsmanship are the hallmarks of The Bridge.
A brand that creates bags and accessories with great personality and a timeless, never-boring charm.
The innovative “washed & ruined” and “distressed” techniques (which involve stressing the leather during the tanning process) give the leather that carefully sought-after “natural wear” look, which enhances the vibrancy and luster of The Bridge’s products.

The Bridge Lines

The Bridge's collections blend Florentine style with British glamour and are perfect for any occasion—from business to leisure.
The Bridge’s crossbody bags, clutches, backpacks, and briefcases express a unique style, perfect for a casual, laid-back look as well as a polished work outfit.
Refined aesthetics are the common thread running through all the lines: from the most classic ones, such as the Fiorentina (with Renaissance-inspired motifs and the iconic Florentine lily) and the Versilia (with softly shaped, well-organized bags), to the Ranch and Ramada Collections, with their unmistakable country style.
The Story Collection, on the other hand, includes professional bags, briefcases, laptop bags, and backpacks for men; as well as crossbody bags, satchels, and elegant clutches for women.
