What Does RFID Stand For?
RFID stands for "Radio Frequency Identification," and it is a technology that has been in use for several years now. It allows information to be sent and received via electromagnetic waves using specialized devices; The information is stored on media of various shapes and sizes designed to retain data, and is read by radio-frequency receivers that receive and interpret the data without requiring physical contact between the two components.
The applications of this technology are endless and constantly expanding: from personal identification in passports to logistics, animal identification via special “chips,” and even our RFID credit cards, which are used for contactless payments.
