It’s probably happened to you dozens of times—especially in the morning or when you’re in a rush—that you can’t find your keys or other everyday items, which seem to have vanished, causing you to waste dozens of precious minutes on your busiest days.
Piquadro—the historic Bologna-based leather goods and luggage brand whose motto is “Tech Inside”—is here to solve this problem. The company recently released an updated version of its most famous device: the Connequ®.
It is a small tracker that connects to your device via Bluetooth and, using the GPS capabilities of your smartphone or smartwatch, allows you to locate the accessory to which Connequ® is attached in real time.
From the app, you can set it up so that if the device and the object it’s attached to—via one of the enabled Piquadro keychains (available in various models in the Keychains section at Piquadro Connequ®)—move more than twenty meters away from your smartphone, the smartphone will emit a sound to alert you to the movement, warning you of unauthorized movement. By pressing the dedicated button on the Connequ® device, you can also make the smartphone emit a sound, allowing you to easily locate the accessory if it is lost.
The app, which is easy and intuitive to install on your smartphone, will constantly record the locations detected by the keychain as you move around, taking into account the last known location, which can be used as a reference if the Connequ® device is lost. In addition, using the dedicated feature, you can make the Connequ® device emit a sound directly from your smartphone—a very useful feature for finding keys left at the bottom of your bag or backpack, or for saving time searching for your accessories on busy mornings.
From the Connequ® “Piquadro” app, you can also set time slots during which the device must be active and “Safe Zones” where tracking is disabled—useful for preventing false alarms, for example, when you return home or to the office.
